CBD supplier or CBD producer?

A CBD Supplier is a distributor who resells CBD-based merchandise to retailers or individuals. Capable of stocking and managing a complex logistical system, he may be a producer, albeit a rare one, or simply buy very large quantities from CBD producers. Clearly, suppliers are not necessarily producers and producers are not necessarily suppliers, which is why it's important to distinguish between the two.

Buying products from a CBD supplier allows you to benefit from economies of scale and attractive margins, with a view to reselling them at retail later on. Suppliers are also able to provide basic ingredients, such as CBD crystalscrystals, often at least 98% pure, to be transformed by the buyer into e-Liquids, oils, foodstuffs or cosmetics... In short, distributors are the showcase, suppliers are the intermediaries, and producers are the source.

How can I buy CBD from wholesalers in France?

CBD suppliers are generally aimed at professionals. In fact, to purchase CBD in large quantities for resale or processing, French law imposes a specific legal framework that applies to all merchants operating in the country. You'll need a SIRET number to be able to declare your purchases and sales. Similarly, if you're involved in a commercial activity - which is the case as a retailer - you'll need to register with the Registre du Commerce et des Sociétés. All this can be done easily, with a micro-entrepreneur scheme for example. It's up to you to choose the legal form that suits you best.

You don't have to be a company director to buy CBD in bulk. A private individual can buy CBD in very large quantities from a supplier, or even from a CBD producer for personal consumption, and also benefit from competitive prices. Only reselling CBD requires the creation of a company or self-employed business.

How do you know where to buy your products when you own a shop (physical or e-commerce)?

As with any business, it's up to you as the owner of your own company to shape the reputation of your store, whether physical or online. While success depends on many factors, the quality of the products you sell remains paramount. Before taking the plunge, it's important to ask yourself the right questions: why this supplier instead of another? Why are this supplier's prices more expensive than those of another? Is the supplier able to give me a clear and honest answer about the origin, processing and production methods of my products? These questions are essential to getting started in the best possible conditions.

It's also up to you to decide whether you want to specialize in a particular product range, such as cosmetics, or open up to a wider range. Finally, if you have the opportunity and want to stand out from the competition, you can also manufacture your own products. Depending on the choices you make, you'll be able to find a supplier who meets your customers' expectations.

Choose quality products that comply with the law

It is important to comply with current legislation in the European Union and France. Manufacturers and wholesalers must therefore be able to guarantee the absence of THC, or at a level of less than 0.2%. An important reminder: unlike CBD, THC is considered a psychotropic drug. Its sale and consumption are therefore prohibited in France. CBD-based products are prohibited only if the THC content of the product is less than 0.2%.

Although the virtues of CBD have been proven by numerous studies, it is forbidden to promote it as a medicine. In fact, selling a product for its therapeutic virtues falls within a strict legal framework granted to a very specific type of dispensary, namely pharmacies. A customer may well ask you about the uses of CBD, but wholesalers and retailers are not in a position to claim that their products have proven curative properties. So be very careful!
